Activities/Attractions: Hungary has a strong and distinctive culture. In its cities and towns you can find thermal spas with chess-playing bathers, hear the virtuoso performances of Gipsy musicians and the Hungarian language itself. In the hills and on the plains of the countryside, traditions are upheld, with frequent village days, festivals, concerts, folk art and dancing.

Most visitors to Hungary's Northern Uplands, where our guesthouse is located, visit the caves of the Aggtelek, a World Heritage Site. But they are also rewarded with abundant wildlife, thermal spas, wooded hillsides, ruined castles and four distinct seasons. This peaceful area is perfect for nature lovers, cycling trips and many other outdoor activities, including fishing, horse riding, caving, canoeing and back-country skiing.

General Information: Juniper Cottage - Our guesthouse offers a comfortable base in Hungary's Northern Uplands. This 109-year old cottage is situated in the Aggtelek National Park in north-east Hungary, close to Slovakia. Two bedrooms comfortably sleep a family of six. The garden has outdoor dining/barbecue facilities and plum and walnut trees. The cottage also comprises:

• Flexibility: For self-caterers we can supply fresh milk, bread, meat, cheese, honey and other local organic produce. If you do not plan to self-cater, we can take care of mealtimes. We have also mapped out routes for walkers, XC skiers, and road and off-road cyclists of all ages and abilities, and keep a range of high-quality bicycles, tandems and child seats for your enjoyment
