Activities/Attractions: Located on the North East shore of Lake Huron, this small Northern Ontario community offers a wonderful view of one of Canada's largest bodies of freshwater. Being on Lake Huron, Thessalon offers something few communities can: a fantastic sand beach which on clear, sunny days offers a gorgeous view of the lake and of the American land mass that seems to crawl along the horizon.
Winter: Snowmobile from OFSC trail network right to your cabin! Activities such as ice fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling make winter fun for everyone.
Spring: Birdwatchers enjoy viewing the migrations as our feeders entice the travelers to stop for a rest and waterfowl enjoy the first open water in the end of the bay. Avid lake trout fishermen come to chase the hungry trout as the ice recedes.
Summer: Swimming, sandcastle building, canoeing, fishing, evening bonfires at the beach, weekly Potluck suppers, shore lunches, walking trails, birdwatching (loons, ducks, songbirds, hummingbirds)- all add to the fun!
Fall: September the woods are ablaze with yellow, orange and red. Bring your camera! The warm sun during the day is great for hiking or fishing Trout and Bass. Evenings are spent enjoying a good book, cozy fire, pool game or spa.

General Information: Welcome to Snowshoe Camp, located on the scenic Wakomata Lake ... deep, clean and home to Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Pike and Perch. This majestic lake is 95% surrounded by crown land with sand beaches and rocky shorelines to explore, as well as trails to inland lakes.
There is a sand beach, sheltered boat docks, fish cleaning house, boat and motor rentals, canoes, paddleboats, barbeques and laundry facilities. We have 6 housekeeping cottages located 3 miles from the highway. Our cottages are surrounded by mature oak and maple and are all along the shoreline of Wakomata Lake. Each cottage is equipped with:
- stove, pots, pans
- dishes/cutlery
- refrigerator
- blankets, pillows
- heater

If nature does not provide all of the entertainment to fulfill your needs, our office is loaded with board games, puzzles and books for all ages. There is also a game room with an 8 person spa, a pool table and ping-pong table. Swings are available as well as Tetherball, a Basketball net and a Horseshoe pit.
Fishing licenses are available for purchase on the premises.
