General Information: Welcome to Tyas Cottage, a combined cottage and barn located within a small hamlet near Slaithwaite and Marsden on the site of the first water powered mill in the Colne Valley (17th Century). It is 7 miles from Huddersfield & 11 from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Titanic Spa, with its superb range of facilities, is only two and a half miles away.

South facing within the sheltered, wooded valley, Merrydale, this ancient, cobbled pack horse road echoes to the sound of falling water. This secluded property is within Merrydale, an area designated as a 'Site of Scientific Interest'. The abundant birdlife of this local beauty spot includes kingfishers, herons and sparrow hawks. The quality of the furnishings, mainly antiques, can be appreciated from the Virtual Tour on our website, but special mention must be made of the Georgian mahogany 4 poster bed with its carved ceiling.
