Activities/Attractions: This area of Provence is wonderful for those who love to walk; cycle; paint; canoe; swim, shop or partake of the local culinary delights. Hill villages, chateaux and vineyards cover the landscape.

We are an hour from the Camargue, the Ardeche and the Cevennes, not to mention the rest of Provence. The mediaeval walled city of Avignon is nearby as are Orange, Nimes and Arles with their remarkably preserved remains.

Ten minutes away is the beautiful town of Uzes, an ancient Duchy much of which was built in the 15th and 16th century or earlier. With its teeming sidewalk cafes, restaurants and shops, it hosts a Saturday Provencal market that must be amongst the most colorful and picturesque in Europe.

General Information: Welcome to Les Marronniers Guest House, a 19th Century (1812) Maison de Maitre (Masters House) located in Provence in the South of France. Our home since 1989, and after ten years of restoring it, we decided to open it up to a small number of paying guests of which many have become our friends.

Offering a haven away from large hotels, we open our doors to only eight people (plus an occasional houseguest or two).

"Les Marronnier", is situated in a small village called La Bruguiere, a charming place to walk in and around just enjoying the views and practicing your French with the locals playing Petanque in the shaded square outside the house. Built on three levels around 1812 with an enclosed forecourt, it is shaded by chestnut trees, where we often dine or just sit and relax.

On the other side of the house is a good size swimming pool set in a lawn surrounded by flowering shrubs and plants. Ample garden furniture provides poolside seating under the old fig tree. Features include:

Evening Meals (when available) are €45 per person including four courses with wine, aperitif and coffee. Meals can be provided in the dining room or the front garden, under the Marronniers (chestnut trees).
