Activities/Attractions: Templeton is a pleasant rural community located midway between Atascadero and Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County. It was founded in 1886 when the Southern Pacific Railroad came through the area. Templeton has retained much of its historical character - many of the old buildings have been restored and are still in use today. New buildings are being built, but always with an eye to the past.

Organic farming, by its very nature, demands a commitment to
education since many people are ill-informed about the concept. We
especially invite school tours but we enjoy sharing our farm and
its many dynamics with any tour group that is interested in
learning about organic farming.

We have had a wonderful experience with our interns. An internship consists of working 40 hours a week for a minimum of three months on our certified organic farm. We generally have three interns during the growing season.
General Information: Welcome to The Cottage at Hollyhock Farms ... not only a beautiful slice of country living, it is one of the few remaining "small farms" that, unfortunately, keep disappearing from the landscape, where we farm organically, and we try something new every year. Our farm stay is a wonderful part of our operation and we host couples (or singles) who wish to experience the peace and quiet of rural living.
Tucked in the rolling hills of the Templeton draw, the cottage offers what few others can - the charm, beauty and pleasant wonders of an organic farm. Removed from the traffic and bustle of town, yet just minutes from Paso Robles or Atascadero. Our cottage is private and secure and offers:
- a queen size, double-pillow mattress bed
- a state-of-the-art climate control system (by remote in
bed)
- a wet-bar
- sitting area
- furnished with country antiques
- a VCR/satellite unit with dozens of first rate movies
- French doors are draped with heirloom Danish draperies
- we will start your day with a full gourmet breakfast prepared
with local, organic ingredients
- our "honor system" roadside stand offers dozens of
"just picked" fruits and vegetables
- in the evening, relax on the adjoining patio with a glass of
locally-produced award-winning wine
