Activities/Attractions: Hout Bay is a sociable village with people chatting in cafés and a main street of interesting shops and an excellent craft market on the green every Sunday. The busy harbour is the centre for the tuna and cray fishing fleets, with fish and chip restaurants a stone’s throw from the water’s edge.
The beach is long and sandy and safe for swimming and watersports like sea kayaking or dinghy sailing, though the water is pretty chilly.
The access road that runs from Camps Bay, offers a beautiful drive all along the sea.
The town lies picturesquely in a wind-protected bay, surrounded in the west by the Karbonkel Mountain, the famous Mount Sentinel as the outpost in the sea and in the east, by the Constantia Mountains and Chapman's Peak.
Hout Bay is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor activities, with hiking, cycling, horse-riding, deep sea fishing, scuba diving and sailing all readily available. We also offer guided tours of the Cape Peninsula and wine route.
General Information: Welcome to Hattons Guest House ... and relax in Cape Dutch style, set in lush tranquil gardens nestling in the vineyards of Hout Bay, near Cape Town. We offer spacious, well-equipped accommodation for self-catering or B&B with private entrances and braai areas. Hout Bay beach, the fishing harbour and restaurants are 5 minutes away.
Each apartment is serviced daily, has use of the heated, salt-water swimming pool, TV with satellite and video channels, and there is private off-street parking.

Kumassi Cottage is a large family suite decorated in Biggie Best style. It has
two bedrooms, one single room (single or double bunks), one double
bedroom decorated in lavender and olive
- The
Lavender Suite, so called due to the profusion of lavender spilling over the
patio wall outside, is a charming open plan studio with lounge area
decorated in colonial style with antique wardrobes and wicker
couches, queen size bed and fully equipped kitchen
- The
Mimosa Suite is a double volume suite in African ethnic style, with it's
own entrance, gallery bedroom overlooking the downstairs lounge and
full bathroom with shower over bath
- The Syringa
Suite
is the main suite of the house, and has sensational views over
the back of Table Mountain and the Orangekloof Nature Reserve
- The Acacia
Suite
consists of two adjacent rooms, one a twin and one a double,
both with en-suite shower rooms
We also offer wireless internet access in all rooms. Strictly no smoking in bedrooms but is allowed in the garden areas.
