Activities/Attractions: In nearby Yarmouth, visitors can browse museums which depict a local seafaring history, shop local galleries and emporiums, sample fresh seafood in one of many restaurants, or simply stroll along the waterfront. Cape Forchu Lighthouse, located at Yarmouth Bar, is a popular attraction which is open seasonally to the public.

We are close to activities such as whale-watching, deep sea fishing, movie and dinner theatres. Drive 80 miles northeast, and you will stumble upon Annapolis Royal, the oldest surviving settlement in North America. Along Highway 1, you will find the largest wooden structure in North America, and closer to Churchill Mansion, you will see Canada's smallest drawbridge in the fishing community of Sanford. In nearby Clare, experience the French culture, a community very much alive with stories of both past and present. Local activities include:

"What a wonderful overnight stay we had in your Mansion! We had 24 Red Hat Society ladies from Kingston/Greenwood area stay overnight and 14 or so dinner guests from the Yarmouth Red Hat Society join us for the buffet dinner. I had been there last year and thought it was something my Red Hat Ladies would enjoy. I certainly was right! Your mansion is a wonderful setting for a large gathering. The buffet was superb and the rooms cosy, homey and comfortable. We especially loved the stories of the Mansion's history. Thank you so much for everything you did to make our outing the success it was."

"My husband Paul and I stayed at the Churchill Mansion Country Inn while on honeymoon. You may recall we were "Lord and Lady of the Medieval Dinner" but were unable to take the ceremonial pig head back with us to the US. Our stay at your inn was truly the best part of our honeymoon and we speak of you quite often. We hope to return next year for our 5th anniversary!"

"My wife and I stayed at the mansion for our honeymoon in July 2003. Mansion is beautiful, we had a wonderful time. Bob and Louise were wonderful and attentive hosts. They went out of their way several times to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you guys so much."

"I stayed at the Churchill Mansion in August and it was a truly unique experience. I stayed in the room with the "haunted tub". Can't wait to be back next summer, I have to stay in every room at least once, next time it will be Loti's room."

"We thought it was fun because of all the decorations were still up from a big party. We were travelling around Nova Scotia and didn't know anything about this house about its history or hauntings but we knew when we stayed here for 2 nights it would be a place to remember and tell people about when we got back home to England! It was an amazing house - so grand and at the same time cold and dark and a bit strange (not knowing which door leads out where?) Definitely felt a feeling while staying there - not when we were in our room but in the corridor!! Didn't go there expecting anything special due to us not knowing anything about this house. But this B&B sticks in my mind the most out of all the places we stayed in Canada (was there for 3 months)."

"You have been doing wonderful things with the mansion and it is becoming more and more beautiful in so many ways. I love visiting the mansion. The saying is true. You can check out but you never leave. I cannot wait for my next visit."
