Activities/Attractions: Galashiels is a wool and tweed town situated high on the hills above Gala Water and the highest point in the area is Meghill at 1480 feet. The name is derived from the old word 'shiels', which means houses or dwellings so quite literally the town's name means houses by the Gala. The Braw Lads' Gathering is a week long celebration featuring re-enactments of key historical events, Scottish Country Dancing, concerts and a mounted cavalcade.
Covering about eighteen hundred square miles, the Scottish Borders stretches from the rolling hills and moorland in the west, through gentler valleys to the rich agricultural plains of the east, and on to the rocky Berwickshire coastline with its secluded coves and picturesque fishing villages.

General Information: Welcome to Watson Lodge Guest House ... our charming, early 19th century townhouse in a central but quiet area of Galashiels. All rooms & en-suites have been recently refurbished to a high standard and ground floor accommodation is available on request. A lovely patio garden is located to the rear of the house and we offer games and books for guests entertainment.
Excellent choice of eating places, entertainment and leisure pursuits all close at hand. A friendly welcome and relaxing stay assured.

Room 2 is bright, spacious and comfortable with one double bed
and two single beds and en-suite bathroom.
Room 3 is a family room with one double and one single bed and

Room 5 is on ground level and overlooks the garden. This room
has twin beds and en-suite bathroom.
Rooms 6 and 7 are on one floor with two triple rooms opposite
one another with bathroom on landing in between. There is also a
small relaxation/reading area between the two rooms.
